BREAST LIFT IN DUBAI

Restoring breast position, contour and youthful proportion with refined surgical planning.

BREAST LIFT SURGERY

If your breasts have gradually lost shape, firmness or position over time, breast lift surgery can help restore a more youthful contour by reshaping the breast and improving projection without necessarily increasing volume.

overview

A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is designed to restore shape and position to the breast when the natural support of the skin has softened over time.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes and the natural ageing process can gradually cause the breast to lose firmness. As the skin stretches the breast tissue may descend lower on the chest, creating a flatter or more elongated appearance.

A breast lift addresses these changes by repositioning the breast tissue and nipple to a more youthful position while reshaping the breast contour.

The aim is not simply to elevate the breast, but to restore shape, proportion and harmony with the body.

Considering Breast LIFT

Women consider mastopexy when the breast has lost its natural position or shape.

Common motivations include:

• breast drooping following pregnancy or breastfeeding
• loss of breast firmness after weight loss
• downward-pointing nipples
• stretched breast skin
• asymmetry between the breasts

In many cases patients still have sufficient breast tissue, though the shape has changed. A breast lift focuses on restoring structure rather than simply adding volume

surgeon insight

Many patients assume that restoring breast volume always requires an implant. In reality a well-performed breast lift can reshape the existing breast tissue in a way that often creates the appearance of fuller volume without an implant.

The Consultation

The consultation begins with a detailed assessment of the breast shape, skin quality and position of the nipple relative to the breast fold.

Key considerations include:

• degree of breast descent (ptosis)
• breast tissue volume
• skin elasticity
• chest wall proportions
• whether additional volume is desired

Depending on the anatomy a breast lift may be performed:

• on its own
• combined with breast augmentation
• combined with fat grafting

Some patients are surprised to learn that a breast lift alone can produce a fuller shape without additional implants.

GENERAL

Mastopexy Techniques

Several surgical techniques are available depending on the degree of breast descent.

Wise Pattern Mastopexy

The wise pattern technique is the most commonly used approach when there is moderate to significant breast descent.

This technique allows the surgeon to reshape the breast tissue, remove excess skin and reposition the nipple to a more youthful position.

Vertical Mastopexy

In selected patients with milder breast descent a vertical lift technique may be appropriate.

The choice of technique is determined by anatomy and the degree of reshaping required.

surgeon insight

The goal of mastopexy is not simply to remove skin. It is to reshape the breast tissue internally so the breast maintains its contour long after healing.

Auto-Augmentation Mastopexy

In some patients mastopexy can create the appearance of additional volume without the use of an implant.

This technique is sometimes referred to as auto-augmentation, where the existing breast tissue is repositioned and reshaped to enhance fullness in the upper portion of the breast.

For patients who desire additional volume beyond what their natural tissue can provide, mastopexy may be combined with:

• breast implants
• fat grafting

The appropriate approach is determined during consultation.

Surgical Technique

Breast lift surgery is typically performed under general anaesthesia.

Excess skin is carefully removed while the underlying breast tissue is reshaped to create improved contour. The nipple and areola are repositioned to a more youthful location on the breast.

The breast is then supported in its new shape while maintaining natural proportion with the chest.

In selected cases additional internal support may be beneficial during mastopexy.

A bioabsorbable scaffold, commonly referred to as an internal bra, can be used to reinforce the lower portion of the breast and provide additional structural support during healing. One example is GalaFLEX®, a surgical scaffold designed to gradually integrate with the body’s tissues.

This type of support may be considered in situations such as:

• revision breast surgery
• weaker skin or tissue support
• larger breasts where additional support may improve long-term shape

Over time the scaffold is absorbed by the body while encouraging the formation of stronger internal tissue support.

surgeon insight

Internal support scaffolds are not required for most patients. They can however be useful in selected situations where additional structural reinforcement may help maintain long-term breast shape.

BEFORE AND AFTER

Recovery

Most patients return home the same day as surgery.

During the first several days mild swelling and tightness are common as the body begins to heal.

Typical recovery milestones include:

• light daily activities within several days
• return to most normal routines within one to two weeks
• avoidance of strenuous exercise for several weeks

As swelling settles the breast shape gradually refines.

Scarring After Breast Lift

All mastopexy procedures involve some degree of scarring because excess skin must be removed to reshape the breast.

Scars typically follow the natural contours of the breast and gradually fade over time.

surgeon insight

Many patients are understandably concerned about scarring before surgery. In reality breast lift scars usually heal very well. Because the breast skin experiences less tension than other parts of the body, scars often fade significantly and rarely stretch over time.

PLANNING NATURAL PROPORTION

The goal of mastopexy is not simply to elevate the breast but to restore natural contour.

The relationship between the breast, shoulders, chest wall and waist all influence what will appear balanced. A well-planned breast lift restores shape, proportion and harmony with the body.

When performed carefully the result should appear natural rather than surgical.

Risks and Safety

Breast lift surgery is a surgical procedure. A full discussion of risks and safety considerations forms an important part of the consultation process.

Results

The results of mastopexy evolve gradually as swelling settles and the breast tissue adapts to its new position.

When carefully planned the outcome restores a youthful breast contour while maintaining natural proportion with the body.

Many patients find that clothing fits more comfortably and the overall silhouette appears more balanced.

 FAQs

  • A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a procedure that raises and reshapes the breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning the nipple.

  • Not always. Many patients achieve excellent results with mastopexy alone. In selected cases implants or fat grafting may be used to add additional volume.

  • Auto-augmentation is a technique where the existing breast tissue is reshaped and repositioned to create upper breast fullness without an implant.

  • A breast lift mainly reshapes and elevates the breast. Some reduction in size may occur because excess skin is removed.

  • Most patients return to light activities within several days and resume most normal routines within one to two weeks.

  • Breast lift results are long lasting, though natural ageing and gravity will continue to influence the breast over time.

  • Scars are part of any breast lift procedure, though they usually fade significantly with time.

  • Yes. In patients who desire additional volume, mastopexy may be combined with breast implants.

  • Yes. Fat grafting may be used in selected patients to enhance contour or improve symmetry.

  • Most patients avoid strenuous exercise for approximately four weeks after surgery.
